Tigers Experience of Nando's



Nandos (soon will be known as Nandu's by us punjabis of dilli hahahahhaa) Nothing to die for - been there tried not going back ... now the story .. after watching Dabangg at DLF promenade - the show was timed such that i get to eat out agaist the wife's wishes LOL - well anyway took a chance at nandos - there was a waiting at 11pm also but got a table real fast as we were two ... grt buzz ,people families lotsof excitement floating around.. got seated , four bottles of sauces placed on the table - the chatora me tried all Hot to mild to garlic ... too khata .. tasted like loads of vinegar, red chilies and diluted mayo .... the funny part .. both of us forgot our reading glasses at home and were blind hence cud not read the damn menu - so like smarties we asked the man what does he recommended and pretended as if we had read the full menu LOL , our choices were a small starter , two main dishes - we went with his recommendations and ordered -Chicken Livers - which was actually the best dish - as per them the liver was char grilled and soaked in a different sauce ,served with bread was not bad at all ; then a Quarter Chicken peri peri supposedly there signature dish - well well portion was good just the chicken on the plate no sides etc etc ... tasted good - i felt it was fried ,asked the manager who told us the chicken is marinated for 24hrs and the flame grilled and im sure with loads of oil so justa bit short of saying its fried LOL .. well the chicken skin was nice but the meat was DRY and hard , mild flavor as the sauces given by them have to be used .. used my hands to dig in ; the next dish Espetada - fancy name - char grilled chicken served on a skewer with sides of cole slaw and potatoe wedges (definitely the frozen packet wala) the chicken pieces (Burnt chicken tikka ) were tasty but yet again hard even for the knife ... that was it rs.931 for two of us ... wife said no no to desert as they are frozen and stale LOL 1. the chicken quality is not good ,not succulent , too dry (someone siting next to us commented that he had had nandos abroad and there specialty is not the sauce but was the chicken ) i cud get the same chicken from INA - sauces also and make it at home .. guess they use cornfed chicken out there the problem area is the sourcing of the chicken . 2. KFC rules 3. been der done that .. no reason to make us go back again
